READING: essential for someone's success

"PAGBASA: susi sa  magandang kinabukasan" is the them for this year celebration. In the month of november until december, Ilocos Sur National High School celebrates english month!

Reading is essential for a child's success. It develops someone's vocabulary, increases general knowledge and a better understanding of other cultures. In reading, we are able to understand the World's reality and can make a bright future for ourselves. Reading develops our mind. You can read through your electronic gadgets or books that we can carry everywhere. Reading gives us endless knowledge and lessons that we can use in making our success.

In reading books, we can keep and hold all kinds of information, stories, thoughts, and feelings. Reading is timeless form of entertainment and information. Reading can also improve mental health that is beneficial for our future. Reading sharpens our mind. This sharpening of the mind will eventually heighten our focus when concentrating on something important.

Reading doesn't just help with your critical thinking but also improves your brain function. The better funtioning brain, the better the future also. So inorder to have a bright future, we should be able to read to widen our knowledge and strengthen our mind.

Like it can help you enhance your writing, photographic, and videographic skills. It also gives many oppurtunities to us, students, to write/express our ideas about something. Resiliency of Filipinos to Disasters as the Country's Fame.

Philippines is prone to disasters like typhoon, earthquakes, and volcanic eruption. Philippines experiences these disasters because of its location. It is along the pacific ring of fire where active volcanoes can be seen. Philippines is also near the pacific ocean where most of the typhoons are originated. Because of these disasters we experience almost everyday, the resiliency of Filipinos to disasters can now be considered as the country's fame. Filipinos are tested by countless disasters. Some of them experienced losing their loved ones, properties, and something/someone important to their lives. Thousand people died in hunger during disasters. Some lost their husband, wife, their home, and innocent children, even their wealth. But as a Filipimo, no matter what kind of disasters we experienced, we still manage making ourlives happy. Wikang Filipino, gamitin mo tungo sa pagbabago.

Ang wika  ang isa sa mga mahahalagang bagay sa mundong ginagalawan natin. Ito ang tumutulong upang tayo'y magkaisa at magkaintindihan. Ginagamit din ito tungo sa kapayapaan. "Ang Filipino ang wikang panlahat, ilaw at lakas sa tuwid na landas." Tuwing buwan ng Agosto taon-taon, ipinagdidiriwang natin ang buwan ng wika upang bigyang pugay ang pagkakaroon ng wikang pambansa na pinaburan ni Manuel L. Quezon noon. Ito din ang buwan kung saan nagbabalik tanaw tayo sa kahalagahan ng kulturang Pilipino.  Ang tema ngayong taon ay: "Filipino: wika ng saliksik" Ang interpretasyon ko sa temang ito ay dapat nating gamitin ang Wikang Filipino sa paghubog ng ating karunungan.
