WHY DO WE CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY?

Philippines have been colonized by Spaniards, American, and Japanese. Filipinos experienced slavery. Puppets of the invaders. They didn't have freedom a hundred years ago. But, because of devotion and commitment, they might have been feared, but they fought for our country and finally, on June 12 1898, independence was declared.

We celebrate Independence day to remind us the struggles of Filipinos just to free our country. it is during this day that the entire country remembers the courage, and sacrifices of our ancestors. the bravery of our fellowmen and determination is something our current generation should be proud of.

With our freedom to speak, express, choose, love, and act freely today, let us not forget the struggles of our ancestors under the hands of the invader. we owe them all to the Filipinos who fought for our country.
